Hand thrown. These are tricky to make. After throwing, they are made oval, a vertical cut is made on opposite sides, clay is removed and then joined to create the sharp vertical ridge. The plasticity of the clay is carefully controlled to enable these alterations and to ensure that there is no splitting or cracking of the clay.
